Definition:
A closed cavity or sac, usually in epithelial tissue, and filled with a liquid
or semi-solid material. There are many varities of cysts in the human body, often
caused by obtructions of glands or ducts, or infections. Cysts are not, as a rule,
cancerous, but can cause alarm by creating a lump or appearing as a mass on ultrasound
or other test.
